The Graduation Transition Program (GTP) is a 4 credit, mandatory program required for graduation. In GTP, grade 12 students will consider and complete a number of assignments to encourage them to consider their future. From this, they will design, assemble, and present a GTP presentation to an audience to demonstrate personal learning and achievement (in and out-of-school), growth in the core competencies, and a reflection on their post-graduation plan.
Students in grade 12 must create a personal integrated plan, to be included in the presentation, for post-graduation that includes communicating choices related to:
- 30 hours, or more, of work experience, including volunteer activities
- Career exploration and education prospects
- Financial planning reflective of future goals
- Creating balance including addressing personal health and wellness
Following their presentation, students will arrange for a short debriefing session where they will review the presentation feedback and consider whether or not to apply offered suggestions to their transition plan.
